The countdown is on for the 152nd Royal Bath and West Show, featuring the country’s finest livestock, over 600 trade stands, the British Cheese Awards plus the UK’s biggest cider competition. There really is something for everyone, family or food lover.
There is also a host of new attractions to wow you. It will be a real showstopper, with something for the whole family from daredevil displays in the main ring to the country’s top livestock on show. A focus on food and drink brings with it the prestigious British Cheese Awards and the new British Cider Competition. A new Cheese Village will showcase the work of cheese producers and associated products. The British Cider Championships will also feature, making the Show a real celebration of all things British.
The Farming for the Family section will have a range of displays and demonstrations which show the route from field to fork with extended butchery and cookery demonstrations. The new artisan food marquee which will also be a must visit for all food lovers. In the main ring will be The Devils Horsemen, one of Europe’s leading teams of Horsemasters, Stuntmen and Stunt Co-ordinators who have featured in film and TV productions such as The King’s Speech, The Eagle and The Duchess. Jamie Squibb will be bringing Squibbfreestyle motocross arena stunt show to the main ring with a team of riders performing breath taking jumps and stunts mid-air.
But it’s not only food, drink and daredevil displays, the Show will also be appealing to the green fingered visitor with Glorious Gardening. Another new initiative is this specialist gardening area which will feature the Instant Garden Challenge, gardening talks and demonstrations, floral art marquee and garden sundries marquee.
There will of course, be the best of British livestock and equine at the Show, which is, after all, how it started back in the 19th century. This is the only four day agricultural show in England and has the top animals in the country being displayed and competing to be named Champion. It is an incredible event as it encompasses everything one normally sees in a traditional day out with a quintessentially British agricultural show.
